Presentation of a project “Through innovation – to effective cooperation” in Kosice

In the Slovak sister city of Uzhhorod-Kosice, the presentation of the project “Through Innovations – to Effective Cooperation” was held in the scientific center of the Slovak Academy of Sciences. The event was held in the framework of the Slovak-Norwegian-Ukrainian project “Information Support and Implementation of Innovative Approaches to Cross-Border Cooperation of Slovakia and Ukraine”.

The project funded by a grant from the Norwegian kingdom with the help of the Norwegian Financial Mechanism and co-financed from the state budget of the Slovak Republic.

The aim of the project is: obtaining and analyzing authentic, high-quality and complete information on the forms, methods and results of the Barents Euro- Arctic Council and the Barents Regional Council activity; development for the managing authorities from Slovakia and Ukraine the practical recommendations on its implementation/application to improve the efficiency of cross-border cooperation between border regions of these countries, in particular, and in cross-border region of the Carpathians, in general.

An introductory speech was presented by the project coordinator from the Slovak side – Marian Haydosh – professional guarantor of the project, Ph.D., Senior Fellow at the Center of Social and Psychological Sciences, Slovak Academy of Sciences (SAS).

Participants of the discussion were congratulated by Deputy Mayor of Uzhhorod – Oleksandr Bilak, Mayor of Kosice on Cross-Border Cooperation -Eduard Burosh.

Ambassador in the Czech Republic and Slovakia in 1999-2005, Doctor of Sociological Sciences, Head of the Department of International Studies and Social Communications of Uzhhorod National University, Director of the Institute for Cross-Border Cooperation Serhii Ustych made a presentation on the content of the project.

Then there was a lively discussion with the participation of Ukrainian and Slovak experts: Doctor of Economics, professor, head of the department of international economic relations – Volodymyr Prykhodko, researcher at the Institute of Social Sciences – Oleksandr Mushinky, leading researcher at the same institute – Stanislav Konechny and others.
